MF's Tim Cox and John Bull were delighted to join the Leaders In Sport team at their Sports Performance Summit in Melbourne, Australia.
The focus of the inaugural Leaders Meet in Australasia centred on the theme of high performance environments.
Across the course of two days, the aim was to break down this theme by watching a live environment in practice, exploring frameworks and perspectives on how to recruit talent for your environment, the power of teaming and how it drives collaboration and teamwork, and insights from different industries on how to design, shape and evolve environments.
MF's John Bull led an engaging session exploring Building a High Performing Team (Creating High Performing Teamwork). This covered aspects including:
- Four skills of effective collaboration
- Common inhibitors of effective teamwork
- Psychological safety
This partnership with Leaders in Sport, follows on from a number of successful collaborations last year including another Performance Summit in Twickenham London, where MF's Head of DE&I Shona Crooks ran two open sessions and moderated the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion panel.
The first open session Shona ran focused on Creating a space - Implementing a Culture of Belonging. This looked at psychological safety, exploring the concept of in and out groups and belonging - specifically around the belonging cues we can send to other people to create inclusion.
The second session was on Change and Complexity: Skilfully Navigating the Unexpected. This involved looking at setbacks as a part of success, mindset and drawing on previous learnings.
The moderating session focused on Inclusion from Grassroots to Elite and the panel was Joel Shinofield (USA Swimming) and Jatin Patel (Head of Diversity and Inclusion at the Rugby Football Union)
