Learning Lab: Stepping up as a Culture Architect

Learning Labs
August 20, 2020

Learning Lab #14

Great cultures are forged in adversity.

Right now many organisations are experiencing adversity, and in response some brilliant new behaviours are emerging: Virtual working means managers previously reluctant to delegate, simply have to; For many, internal communication has never been better; The BLM movement is forcing organisations to consider a more inclusive approach to leadership; The profile and importance of Mental health in the workplace continues to rise.

We have a window of opportunity; a window to identify and embed new habits that support wellbeing and performance; a window to shape our organisational cultures for the future.

Leading this work is surprisingly simple. Once you know how… you’ll note we write ‘simple’, not ‘easy’!

This session explores what culture is and how it shapes group behaviour.

We'll look at the key ingredients that enable high performance culture to emerge, and some vital cultural leadership methods such as appreciative inquiry.

We'll be in great company drawing leadership insights from culture architects like Ed Catmull of Pixar, Patty McCord of Netflix, Jacinda Arden and Martin Luther King Jr.
