Learning Lab #10
The pandemic crisis hit Europe in March 2020.
It happened fast and pushed us into different ways of working with no planning, no ‘change management’ and often little or no support.
What it brought was much uncertainty and worry – and for many, a kind of rumbling background anxiety.
Work changed. Words like ‘crisis’ and ‘new-normal’ were overused as we struggled to make sense of what’s going on.
But neither word described where we were, in that moment, and neither provided useful thinking in an extended period of uncertainty.
The Apollo 13 mission, with its excellent leadership lessons, lasted four days between ‘crisis’ (the explosion) and re-entry.
Whatever the crisis, how do we plan for the ‘new normal’ in challenging times, and when the future is so uncertain. What is needed now in this present moment between crisis and re-entry?
