How can we offer challenge in coaching while supporting wellbeing and inclusion?
As coaches, we aim to raise our clients' levels of self-awareness and self-efficacy. Much of this is done by building rapport, offering challenge and asking impactful questions. But where is the line between challenging clients and allowing them to be their authentic selves?
When we present challenge, are we broadening a client’s perspective - or unintentionally dismissing their experience?
What to Expect:
In this fully interactive Learning Lab, Shanara Hibbert will guide us through the potential tensions between inclusion, wellbeing and challenge. We’ll explore questions and approaches that support balance across this triangle, and consider the deep importance of listening through the lens of lived experience. The session will blend expert input, shared insight from the ‘Wisdom of the Lab’, and opportunities to meet, reflect and collaborate with other coaches.
Whatever your level of experience, you’ll leave with fresh awareness around lived experience, practical ideas to apply in your own coaching, and clear next steps to develop as an inclusive practitioner - one who can challenge with care and promote wellbeing.
– This session was designed by Shanara Hibbert.
